    Hi there guys...

Having problems with my GX640. Not sure what to think/do

I bought the computer in about may, no problems since then. Its worked fine. Never flashed any BIOS, or anything like that. Updated video driver once, like, 4 months ago.

Anywho, yesterday my computer crashed to a random blue screen (first time ever) and now refuses to boot to windows. It gets to the loading screen, the 4 coloured thingies dont show up, then skips to the "windows is loading files" screen, then goes to some vintage looking windows loading screen, then hits a black screen and hangs there.

Windows recovery does the same thing. Using a windows 7 cd does the same. Hangs at a black screen. I tried booting into OS install with the windows 7 disk again and got an error saying it could be a problem with cd drive or harddrive. Now it wont recognize my windows 7 disk.

    Any ideas?

Sounds like your system is trying to do a system file check to clean up a fatal error but it's failing.

    Download anything sketchy lately?

    Not that I can recall.

Come to think of it I was downloading some drum tracking software, but ended it when AVG was alerted. I cleaned it out. Maybe not well enough?

    Any suggestions?

I`d imagine a new hard drive would help out? The bios are still intact, so im not afraid of this thing being a brick just yet.
    Edit: spelling

Yea it might be that, if they got to hang out in the recycling bin, it mightve been enough time to attack ur computer.

Definitely try another hard drive, seems like a windows problem and nothing hardware related
