I was just wondering if anyone could help me with this issue. I purchased my gx640 in July with the i7-640m processor, upgraded ram, and an upgraded thermal compound.

Just recently it's started having small freezing episodes where it will freeze for about 15-30 seconds and then act like it's fine. I made sure the graphics drivers are up to date and everything is normal other than that. I'm guess it could possibly be heating issues, though it happens even when I just surf the web for a while.

I'm going to clean it out soon also. I just realized the room it's been in is pretty dusty :D , so I'm hoping that's the problem. Is that a reasonable solution?

    Thanks!

Hm...I don't think I do. I don't have that many programs, mostly just basic stuff and a few games. And it just randomly started a week or so ago and I didn't download anything prior to it starting.

    Also - no viruses.

Run in "gaming" mode via the Eco touchpad and see if it freezes up. This enables Turbo and if it is CPU clock related, it should disappear with Turbo enabled.
