    GX640 - Multitouch?

    I am sure this have been covered before somewhere, buy I just cant find it.

    How do you enable multitouch on the gx640?

    I have downloaded the lastest drivers from the website, but it doesnt appear to make any difference...

    The hardware of the GX640 touchpad doesn't support multi-touch. You have to have version 6.3 above, what our GX640 has installed is v6.2. Disappointing considering most netbooks, even the older models, use multi-touch capable touchpads. It doesn't really bother me, though, since I almost exclusively use a USB mouse, but I can see how two-finger scrolling is by far simpler than using scroll zones.

    Beat me to it. The GX640's touchpad is a crazy old revision, so that could be one place MSI cut corners when designing the thing. The surface is also not very smooth to the touch.

    I hate it, but my Orochi's there to save the day!

    Does anyone know if there is a better touchpad we could replace the old one with?

    Yup. It's multitouch and it's only ~$40. It supports all sorts of gestures, too.
