I haven't been gaming much lately, but I thought try Bioshock and Far Cry 2 today.
I noticed that when on battery, the clock speeds (GPU-Z) of the 9600M GT stay on 2D settings (lowest clocks), even when a 3D app/game is started/running. (only stuttering in Bioshock/Far Cry)
On AC power there is no problem at all and the clock speeds go up to max when launching a 3D app/game.
Is it normal that on battery the clock speeds stay at 2D settings?
EDIT: Driver is 176.60 (latest by MSI)
Hopefully this isn't a stupid question, but I've been browsing the forums and internet for over an hour and haven't found anything..

I think the GPU automatically lowers the clock speeds when on battery to conserve battery life. I was playing Crysis demo on battery and was stuttering, then plugged in the AC and was smooth. I'm am not 100% positive, but I think that is the reason why (not sure what you mean by '2D settings').

I have same problem. Do anyone know how to solve our trouble?

It is designed that way, on battery lower clock speed to save the battery. Both CPU and GPU probably in your case
First of all you will get very short battery life if you force the GPU to run its normal clock speed. It is not very good for the battery itself to put a high drain on it like that.
If you really want to do it I think you can do it buy going in control panel-->performance and maintenance--->power options--->home/office desk. Not sure if that will work with your specific laptop.
Otherwise try some of the other poweroptions.

Of course I aspect with lower endurace but your advice doesnt work.

Go to nVidia Control Panel
Under Mobile, Change PowerMizer settings, then choose Not manage my power consumption (Disable PowerMizer). -
Doesnt work too, when I play a game GPU is still in 2D.

The only way round this that I have found is to actually alter the 2d clocks with NiBiTor and flash your bios.
However, this means, of course, that the computer will no longer be able to clock down when not running games...
Unless I can make a set of downclocking rules in software somehow?
