    Hi guys,

I just recently got Win7 pro (x64) of MSDNAA from my uni and I gotta question about driver support from MSI. Seeing that its a clean install (getting rid of ye olde Vista Home Premium 32bit, what drivers will I need from MSI? Are they all 64bit Win7 compatible?

I have the burned ISO w/key siting infront of me (its torture I tells ya) and the only thing stopping me right now from popping it into the disc drive is the drivers

    Thanks in advance lads. :D

Yes MSI's site has most of the 64 Bit drivers, also go to nvidia's site for the GPU driver. Heres the link to both:

    http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=driver&maincat_no=135&prod_no=1529

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_notebook_win7_x64_186.03_whql.html

Seems like they are listed as 32 bit...but I'm assuming that MSI forgot to change the supported os thingy.

So they are a go for 64bit, yes?

And exactly which drivers from the list will I need. There are quite a few and I honestly don't know which ones (Yeah I'm a bit of a noob dealing with drivers)

    NB Intel WLAN Drivers
    NB Agere Modem Drivers
    NB Card Reader Drivers (JMicron)
    NB Bluetooth Drivers
    Audio Drivers for GX620
    Chipset Drivers for GX620
    LAN Drivers for GX620
    ENE CIR Drivers for GX620

Then under utlities you will need this one:

    http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=downloadfile&dno=8465&type=utility

I am 100% these will work, I used to own a GX620 and had all these working on 64bit Win7.

I just got my W7 Pro copy from MSDNAA. The only drivers you need to install are the card reader and infrared one. You can get the realtek audio drivers and Nvidia ones from their respective website. Everything is working great.

It's probably old thread but I didn't want to open a new one - here's what's wrong with my GX620.

I've been trying to install Win7 64-bit but after everythin finished and autorestarting on boot screen nothing happens - I clearly see that there's no HDD activity and...

And ... I tried Win7 32-bit version, from which I'm writing this message from.

    Any ideas ?

Does the problem go away with the AC adapter on or does it only happen with the battery on.
If so you probably need to flash your laptop with the newest Bios version.
I had a similar problem with msi GT627 where I tried to run Win 7 only on battery it would boot and I could hear welcome music but no picture blank
    screen.
By flashing the bios I now am able to use Win 7 on battery.

The problem is not when running on battery. It's on AC and only the 64 bit version is not working that's why I'm confused. I'm using (I think so) the 'z' version of MSI's BIOS. If there's newer I won't try it because I had many problems with flashing to 'z'.

Will check MSI's page for firmware or something... Don't know what the problem is. So far the 32bit v. of Win7 is working without any problems but I want those 4 GIGs of RAM all available.

    Any other ideas ?
