Right I'm going around looking at lappies I like the look of. This is going to be about £750 from Mesh (this includes 0% finance fee, the only way I can do a lappie).

    1) Is this the best deal people know of?
    2) Whats the laptop like? Good build quality? I've checked the 600 but its about £900 & something and I don't like the flames!

The MESH GX610 is a well built, good looking laptop that costs £699! iv read a review from a pro gamer who bought one off amazon who seemed to think the sun shone out its USB ports... im aware that ive just made the crappest joke of all time, but seriously its one of the best deals around at the moment for what it is (order it before this christmas and get intergrated freeview...er...free!), its defenately worth a look so go to www.meshcomputers.com if ur still interested.
(BTW it dosent have the flames!)

I see, its the GX600 that has the flames!
I would ideally love that. But if its going to cost some serious £age more for not that much more performance. I may go for the 610 instead.

I'm not wanting it for hardcore games (but would like to hook it up to an HDTV) and mainly want it to cope with Ableton. So could be my best option.

The only other competitor appears to be the Fujitsu xi 2428. I can't find anyone who has anything to say about these and I think it might have the lesser flavour GS card. Its also more expensive but has the C2D.

Ok so i got the GX610 for christmas, so far ive only been able to play doom 3 on it. im not that keyed up on laptops but i was able to play it on high settings with no framelag, the game ran smoothly and clearly with a high fps rate. the battery lasts a good 3:30 hours on balanced settings but i think you could easily push it up to 4 on the power saver mode. on balanced settings, i think you could easily squeeze a good 2:30-3:00 hours out of it while gaming so it has brilliant battery life. the next game im getting for it is unreal tournament 3 which will really test the ATI RAEDON 2600HD, so ill get back to you with that.

I'm very happy with my GX610. It seems well built, has a great screen and has an HDMI port, I just wish it had a DVI port rather than a VGA.
I run CSS and Half Life 2 on high settings without any problems.

Also, I especially like that it comes with a carry backpack and a laser mouse.

Do you have the 9-cell battery? What are your notebook specs? Thanks!
