    Hello,

SATA HDD was detected so I did a clean installation of Windows XP Professional and everything worked like a charm...
I installed all the provided drivers for WinXP from the MSI webpage AND the Microsoft update page which offers a newer driver for the Silicon SATA Controller except for the ENE CIR driver which is only provided for Vista
and won't allow execution under XP.

So now my problem is that device manager reports:

    Other devices:
    ?!Unknown device
    ?!Unknown device

    and

    Non-Plug and Play Drivers:
    !Serial

Also the "System Control Manager" for WinXP (SCM) from the MSI site is not working under WinXP for me  as it can't identify the MODEL at startup.

So I really need some advice/help here. What are the 2xUnknown devices? Where do I find drivers for them, for the "Serial" and also for ENE CIR? What is ENE CIR anyways? :)

Try the SCM for the GX700 model for xp, that should work fine.

The ENE is the consumer infared port (CIR), msi does not have xp drivers posted for it. Microsoft does but you have to validate xp media center to download. if you go to the device manager you can force install a microsoft driver that will work. just uncheck compatible hardware and it will show up.
