    Hi

my friend of mine has the GX660 and told me of this problem where when he closes the lid, 3 out of 7 times the darn thing wont power down, will just keep running and when he pulls his laptop out of his bag, it's burning hot (ofcourse from the exhaust being blocked and stuff in the bag)..

now i have this new GX680 and i noticed this a few times but didnt really mind it.. till this afternoon i left my notebook in my bag (after closing the lid) for over an hour (i was in a meeting)..and when i pulled it out it was burning hot, i can barely keep it in my hands it was soo hot.. so i guess it was running all the time it was in my bag... ...

anyone of you experiencing same issues? any solution?

    regards

    TJ

    PS
no I DONT WANT TO BE FORCED TO SHUTDOWN MY NOTEBOOK everyime i wana simply close the lid to move to another place or someting..

you can change this in power settings. Right click on the battery and then select actions to take when you close the lid.

You can either do nothing or make it sleep or hibernate or shutdown.

umm , it's ready set to SLEEP when i close the lid (as default) and as i explained sometimes this works sometimes it doesnt and the darn thing gets too hot to hold after being stored in my bag for over an hour. :(

Well even if it's asleep it will still generate heat. That is expected behavior because the notebook is still on (CPU + GPU still working).

If you don't want it to get hot, get it to hibernate.
