    We seem to be the only place on the planet with out it, and I cant find a date anywhere.

    Give me hope? Surely they have to release it here..

    Otherwise what's a good alternative ? (sub £1000 gaming DX11)

    Some dude at an msi board said that only GX740 will be released in the UK...

    SOURCE

    BTW, Honduras, where I live in, is without MSI computers in general... the only thing available here are MSI minis...

    you're not alone, Peacock.

    As it appears the GX640 isn't going to be released in the UK, it appears the Kolbalt G860 will be my next best bet.

    Has anyone had experience with this machine/ company.

    G860
    Screen - :: 15.6" 1600x900 HD+ X-Glass
    Processor - :: Intel® Core i5 520M Dual Core with HT 2.66GHz - 2.93GHz 3MB Cache
    Video Card - :: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 1GB GDDR5
    Memory 1 - :: 4GB DDR3 1333Mhz CAS9 2x 2GB DIMMs
    Hard Drive - :: 320GB 7,200rpm SATA-II with 16MB Cache
    Operating system 1 - :: Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit
    Optical Device 1 - :: 8x DVD±R/W
    Bluetooth - :: Bluetooth V2.0 Module
    7 in 1 card reader - :: 7 in 1 card reader
    Warranty - :: 2 Year - European Collect & Return

    This comes to £1220 (inc delivery), which is about £200 more (and £200 more than i wanted to pay) than the G640.

    I believe the G860 has;
    -Better cooling
    -Backlit keyboard
    -Slightly better graphics card
    -Faster processor
    -Faster ram

    Is there anything I've missed that would make me press the button?

    I believe Cobalt / Clevo / Sager are pretty much the same thing. Cooling should be better than the MSI.

    Go for it ! With 64bit OS though

    Gx740 & Medion Akoya (740 rebrand) should hit the UK some time soon .. Why not wait a little ?

    I read the review on notebook check and they stated that the GX740 screen was bad (although having good contrast). Also don't really want to go up to a 17" screen as I will have to carry this around a little bit, and the 17" just seem to bulky (university student).

    Although its not stated anywhere on the website I am right to assume that notebook has Wi-Fi as well, right? My halls of residence may only have Wi-Fi.

    If any one has a link to a review of the kolbalt with that set up I will be very happy!

    Keep in mind that this Kobalt/Clevo/Sager has an abysmal battery performance - 1-1,5 hours max.

    It does come with an Intel 6300 card as default.
