Hey everyone! I bought this laptop in Sept. I am wondering if I am going to ruin it with playing when the temp goes 65-70 c ? This is usually when playing intense games like SWTOR, Minecraft, Skyrim..that sort of thing. I also am wanting to clean the fans but am afraid to do so. Will I break the warranty? I do not want to do anything to ruin that.

I am also afraid of messing up. I don't know much about how this stuff works. Should I get a cooling pad also?

Thank you so very much for your help? I have not been sorry for my purchase, I truly love this laptop!

i think you should be ok :)

laptops do run hotter than a normal pc. your gpu can take over 100deg but its best not to have them over 80deg. if its your cpu at that temp it seems a bit high but then again, laptops do run hotter.

You actually don't need to turn the turbo fan on everytime. If the GPU temp is less than 80C then you're good to go. If it surpasses that, you could turn the turbo fan on and don't forget to clean the heatsinks every couple of months.

I monitor my GPU with MSI Afterburner and CPU with CPUID

Could you help me with that XMar99? I have no idea how to do that or clean the fans? I worry about ruining my warranty. I thank you so very much in advance.

If you're worried about breaking the Warranty Sticker "void if tampered' on the bottom of the notebook then peel it off by getting under a corner with a box cutter blade and keep it in a safe place until you may need warranty service(stick it back on) or your warranty period expires.

There's 7 screws to remove in order to take off the bottom cover to expose the fan and heatsinks.

There's now only 1 screw holding the fan into the notebook.

With the fan removed use a can of compress air to blow the dust out of the heat sink fins of both the GPU and CPU from the inside to the outside.

You don't ever want your heatsink fins to look like this.

A small paint brush used in modeling can be used to to clean the blades of the fan without disassembling the fan.

I clean my GT780DX every 1~2 months.I live in a dusty big city.
