Hi all, I have found an MSI Titan-016 on sale for $2399. Very reputable site where I have shopped for over 10 years.

    • Dual GeForce GTX 1070 SLI 16 GB GDDR5 (8 GB each)
    • Intel Core i7 8th Gen 8850H (2.60 GHz)
    • 32 GB Memory 1 TB HDD 512 GB SSD
    • 18.4" 1920 x 1080 WideView IPS-Level Non Reflection
    • 17.12" x 13.34" x 1.65"-2.71" 12.13 lbs.
    • BD Burner (9.5 mm)
    • 1 x Thunderbolt 3, 1 x Mini DisplayPort 1 x HDMI (4K @ 60Hz)
    • 3 x USB 3.1 Gen 1, 2 x USB 3.1 Gen 2

The nearest price anywhere else is $3400.

I looked at building an Alienware Area 51m. It would gain a 9700k cpu and a single 2070 but go down to 17.3" for about $300 more.

It I purchase the MSI, i would eventually max out the ram to 64GB and swap out the smaller M.2's for 2 WD black 1TBs.

Definitely looks like a good deal. I've always liked the Titan models.

You can get one with dual GTX 1080 on eBay for around $2000 with previous gen cpu.

    I shop mainly on eBay.

I bought a dual gtx 1080 version with an i7 6920hq, 64gb ram 1tb ssd from ebay around 2 months ago from a wholesale supplier in the us, they sold out within 2-3 hours due to the cheap price of $1800 lol. That was a bargain.

Import fees to the UK were a pain, I don't know why pitney bowes charges an arm and a leg for just 'economy shipping'. $300 usd import I guess they got to make money somehow.

EDIT: Come to think of it I think they were trying to get rid of the stock as not many people buy ridiculously expensive laptops! :D

It's a good price but I personally wouldn't go SLI anymore. Nvidia themselves killed with lower support, to the point that current gen graphics only support NVlink on desktop 2080+ and not on laptops at all.

Do you need SLI and/or the mechanical keyboard? You can probably find other MSI laptops like the GT75 from last gen with a single 1080 and 8th gen CPUs at decent prices as well. They have better screens to boot.

the GT80's are not bad laptops but the screen at this point in time leaves a bit to be desired and coupled with SLI being underwhelming, I wouldn't buy one of those. Hell even a new MSI GE75 with a 2070 GPU (basically like a GTX1080) goes for 2300dlrs?

Most new games don't support SLI that much.

Yeah your right. I'll just keep my area-51m order since they're the same price. The RTX series in laptop has been super disappointing but the area-51m is the only laptop rocking a 200 watt TDP and is just a little bit behind the desktop variant. I'm sure dell will figure out what's causing some failures.

Just got a soft spot for the 18 inch display and full mechanical keyboard. I havent gamed on laptops in years now and I find it very unenjoyable to game on any display under 17 inches.
