I am talking with a person who wants to sell a GT80. Below is a picture of the inside (sorry for the poor graphics). The computer is not working, and the price is low with the understanding that anyone buying it would have to have it fixed. In any event, I am wondering if this looks like the inside of a plain early model GT80, say an SLI 001. I am wondering about the empty spaces on the right side. Having drives or memory missing would be a separate issue which hasn't been discussed. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

What is wrong with the laptop ? Give us some details of the condition.

1)First thing I will ask you is , what is the price and if the laptop turns on. To find out if it is working, pop in a stick of ram turn on the laptop and it will go straight to the bios. If it turns on and go to the bios its a good sign, and this also check to see if monitor is working or not.

    2) If the motherboard is dead, stop here and don't purchase it. The motherboard part is rare and hard to find, and possibly be very expensive. if motherboard is working fine go to #3

    3) check to see if the " Graphic Cards ( 2 cards ) " are inside by taking off the bottom and check those slots. Ask if they are working if it is present. If they are missing , don't buy it. The cost of those cards plus the cost of the low cost purchase of the laptop will actually be expensive.

Thanks for the reply. I looks like my question is moot now anyway as the seller is no longer responding to ordinary questions about how to get a deal done given that he's several hours drive away (I think the seller is just too lazy to think about ways to close a deal). Regardless, he wanted $550. The unit does not power up at all. He claims to have bought it that way, presumably to fix or flip. I did find a webpage that described what I thought and hoped this computer might be suffering from, see here: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=274457.0

... but I'm passing at this point based on sellers weirdness. I was willing to gamble at the outset but too many red flags at this point.

What is wrong with it, seems there are no drives installed to boot off at all.
