Running Windows 10 I pressed the GPU switch button on my GT80 2QE(TITAN SLI) and then restarted as oer instructions and am unable boot to windows. OS is installed on 2 M.2s in raid and I am able to get into BIOS

It shows the MSI bios splash screen and takes about 15 minutes to show the rounding circle for loading. After that takes around 1 hour then the screen goes black.

When it tries to do a disk check it takes about the same amount of time to start then it shows the MSI splash screen loading symbol, it turns slightly then stops for a second day or 2 then turns a little more and repeats. Waited for about 2 hours and didn't even reach 1%.

When trying a Windows 8 install DVD it loads to the windows splash screen but never gets to the actually install menu.

USB Windows install/repair media doesn't get past MSI splash logo.

Trying to start advanaced boot options hangs on please wait.

I have left it on all these steps for a few hours each.

I have talked with someone (not an MSI rep I don't think) on MSI forums ( https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=288459.msg1631773#msg1631773) and we were not able to make any progress tho it was just one person.

Any options in BIOS to change or disable GPUs?

Sadly no. Bios is pretty simple.

What happens if you press the button again and reboot?
In BIOS select the reload/reset factory settings, then save and exit.

So you're having issue switching to the Integrated GPU? If so, try reinstalling the SCM Utility.

Might try running diagnostics that don't need to load an OS to run, since it could be a hardware issue. The problem makes me think maybe memory is involved, so if you can get a MemTest disk made and boot up from that you might find there's an issue with the RAM.

Either should hopefully have a minimum initial impact, though the not going past the splash screen has me a little concerned about it.

Disable fast boot in boot option in the bios.

I am able to run Memtest just fine. I'll report back with results when it's done.

I am also going to try a bootable recovery tool via USB to try and get some files off incase I need to send it in.

I have previously tried disabling fast boot.

Is the boot option showing your OS drive? If it's a raid setup is the raid intact?

Are you on the latest Bios and EC??

Have you tried resetting the EC pressing in that small little button with a pin on the under side of the laptop?

Nothing on the latest bios or EC. I'll try resetting EC when memcheck is over. How long does memcheck normally take? It's at 12 hours 95% of first pass.

Not sure never done a memcheck before. If it's found no errors by now then one could say ram is fine.

Memcheck was clear and doing a reset did nothing.

It could be static lock. To solve this you simply disconnect the internal battery and AC power. Then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds to drain the caps. Replace battery and AC and try to power backup to see if that works

Sorry then i am all out of idea's over then forcing the laptop to boot from IGPU by removing the GPU's and powering the system up to allow it to reboot 3 times in a loop style fashion. If that works then simply replace the GPU's back in and see if it works after it will reboot loop 3 times again though.

When you do this, try doing going through the troubleshooting options and do a Windows repair and also try doing a system restore. If these options don't work you may need to simply do a clean install.
