    Hi Guys,

Looking at upgrading the Asus G73 which I have, as it has several problems and Asus has put me off ever owning a product from them again.

I am worried about the Network card on it, will it handle N 5ghz? Also how do you guys like the laptop, any comments good or bad would help me decide.

Also is the model above it (GT780DX) worth the additional $200, I see it has a better video card, but less memory, less hard drive(s)/space. What do you guys think?

I have read a very mixed reviews on the keyboard, what do you guys think of it?

Thanks for any advice.. oh and is it possible to buy accidental damage from MSI for the laptop?

I am also looking into buying one Barebone ver. though.
Keyboard lag problem is fixed. (It only applied to 1st batch of keyboards)
Unless you want to game in high settings, better video card is not necessary.
But if you do, go for it I guess.
Not sure about the stock wireless having 5Ghz but you can upgrade it.

yes the DXR version is worth the $200 imo..

and the accidental warranty is free! you just need to register the product online and send them an invoice as a proof of purchase!

    My keyboard is fine.

    I like my matte screen.

"but less memory, less hard drive(s)/space" compared to what?

The stock wireless card is the Intel N 130 that uses 2 antennas and is only single 2.4ghz band 150Mbps.It has v3.0 bluetooth.

Upgrades to duel band 2.4ghz/5ghz 300Mbps and 450Mbps wireless cards both with and without BT are available through resellers that customize MSI branded and Whitebook models.

The current GT78x series and Whitebook models support SATA III in both internal drive bays at positions 0 and 1 on the SATA bus.
