To make long story short! It only accepts 1 USB device now. If I plugged any more it starts to cut power of the other USB devices and it becomes unstable.

    What I've done so far:

-Turned off the device, popped the battery out and pressed the power button for 30 seconds
    -Uninstalled/reinstalled intel 6 series chipset
    -Uinstalled/reinstalled USB drivers

Non of what I've done solved the problem.

    WELP :(

Did you do any BIOS/EC update before this issue happens?
Can you tell us what your current BIOS and EC versions are?

Updated the bios once but it was like 3 years ago. The BIOS version is E1761IMS.30H

So here what happened after resetting the EC

Turned off the laptop, popped out the battery and left it for 5 entire minutes. now everything is okay except for one USB3.0 port still cutting off power randomly and doesn't transmit any data and it happens with all devices, no exception.

Can't really tell if it's the USB port crapped out or it's a glitch with the EC, how can I update the EC? Sorry if I sounded ignorant but a simple answer may help big time.

I've fixed the issue on all usb ports, don't know for how long though. If the issue came back again in near future, I will keep posting.

To all GT780DXR/GT70 owners, if the USB port in your machines is acting up, reset the Embedded Controllers by shutting down the laptop and remove the battery for 5 minutes. It's a good idea if you push the button for 30 seconds to get rid of static electricity. MAKE SURE ALL USB PORTS ARE UNPLUGGED TO ANY DEVICE BEFORE STARTING THE PROCEDURE.

NEWS FLASH!! It's back.....only by restarting the system this time.

However, I noticed the USB doesn't glitch when boot up to bios or linux distro. I started to suspect the issue is the windows itself due to an messed up registry or something like this. And since it's about time to clean up my system, I decided to do a reformat. deleted the partition, installed windows, and VOILA!!! Back on track!! No matter how many I shutdown my system, it won't glitch. :)

That's an interesting finding, but it's always good to know that the issue is resolved!!
