So I got a GTX670M for a steal (under $100) and I am trying to get my GT780DX-406US to work with this card. The card is not a designated Dell, Clevo, etc. Just a vanilla GTX670M. When I install it I get a blank black screen. I am wondering if I need a bios update on this machine to make the card work; or do I need to try and blind flash a v-bios.

The 680m also didn't work in 16F2. There may be a bios incompatibility for 16F2, GT680/683, 1761, GT780/783 and nvidia 600m series cards. Its been speculated it is due to the lack of optimus, but 1st gen i7 MSI notebooks have worked with nvidia 600m series cards.

Does the system boot? Maybe you can try to find an engineer sample 670m vbios or MSI 670m vbios and do a blind flash.

Hey, I flashed a 670M bios onto my 570M and it worked without a problem in the 16F2 I had at the time, so it should not be an issue, you could try blind flashing an MSI 570 bios and seeing if that works.
