Is it possible to run two GTX 570m's in SLI?

Is there a huge benefit in doing so? For example, what would be the FPS increase in a game like BF3?

Also just curious, is it possible to upgrade components of this notebook in the future? CPU, GPU, anything like that?

Only one graphics slot = no.

So since there's only one slot, I don't know much so I'm just asking questions, is it possible to run an external GPU?

Yes but you could only jury rig the internal PCI-E 1x slot (since they have no Expresscard slot) and would not perform as well as the inbuilt card.

No SLI could be performed due to lack of connection cable, along with the reduced bandwidth that would kill performance anyway.

Also, off topic from my OP, I can't seem to Overvolt my GPU with MSI Afterburner, either in the settings or by editing the .cfg files.

Is this something I'd have to do with SVETs BIOS?

    Yes, no software voltage control.

Shame MSI didn't rethink the layout of the GT780 if they moved things about and chanaged shape of battey they could have had the option to fit a 2nd GPU in situ, this for me is one of the only things that dissapoint's me with the GT780 would be nice to have an SLI or crossfire configuration in the system.

As Meaker advices you can only overvolt with SVET tool no other software will allow

I don't really like the SLI thing, microstutters and redicilous power consumption for the support of 10% of AAA titles support it and sometimes perform worst than 1 card especially with pure console ports!

unless you're a hardcore fan for MultiGPU supported titles like BF3, SLI is a bad idea, forget it!

Dual GPU options are uncommon and never cheap in laptops. If you want SLI you pretty much have to choose between a Clevo P180HM or X7200 rebrand or an M18X. P180HM is the best bet for SLI on a budget but still not cheap.

Also, you'd need something a good bit bigger than a GT780 to even have room for two MXM cards anyway, there's never much room to spare in a laptop . . .

A lot of us reckon if MSI sacrificed their ODD and 2nd HDD bay (or stacked the HDDs and made the front end thicker since it tapers off) then they could fit a second GFX card into the 15.6" 16f2, let alone the 17.3". Then again it would be a heavy 3.6kg at that point lol.

Why shoudl they? Its not like they could not sell enough with current configs. They dont even bother to include a SLI port on any of their GPU ffs.

Well until they do it would be a bit silly for them to include the connector (Nvidia could well charge for including it).

I was merely stating it was possible.
