    Hello.

I have a new MSI GT780DX and overall I am thrilled with the product. However, I have found that the sound does not seem to go high enough when listening to music through a headset, and I have also found that when attempting to record something through the headset's microphone that the microphone volume is also low. I can hear a lot of air or static in the microphone and this can be almost removed by turning off the microphone boost but this makes the volume so low it is almost inaudible. When gaming, I speak over Ventrilo and people tell me that I sound clear but low, so it seems that they do not hear the same air or static that I do.

I've manipulated the recording and playback settings as much as I could have not solved the problem. The drivers are also all updated. I'm not sure what else to do. Any suggestions? The music sounds great by the way, it's just low.

    Thanks in advance!

You probably just don't have it turned up all the way. Check it on the bottom right and click mixer because sometimes they get turned down and the master volume doesn't readjust them. I had to mess around with my heatset microphone through the control panel settings before the recording could really be heard. It's going to be in the sound icon in the control panel.

The mixer is all maxed. I tried adjusting the microphone in the control panel settings too but no difference. :|

I now have a new problem. I have been fiddling with the microphone and haven been 'listening' to it. Now I can hear it through the headset regardless of whether or not I am 'listening' to this device.
I have also noticed that the built in microphone seems to be louder and clearer than the headset microphone. The headset microphone worked perfect on the old laptop I had.

I'm gonna refresh the topic as I've noticed low sound volume as well. I've been using the laptop with HDMI on my TV set so haven't noticed it earlier. It's all maxed out and while using just the laptop speakers the sound is at least twice lower than my GT725. The sound is better, nice bass, but its just too quiet. Any solutions? I'm using it as 5.1 with Subwoofer selected to have better bass, as mentioned befor by someone.
