Has anyone tried upgrading the MSI laptop from the original/default HD , into the new Seagate Hybrid Drive ?,
what's your opinion about it?

I'm sure that some have done this. If you have a daily pattern, then you will benefit from the caching. But if you're all over the place, then you won't benefit from it.
Most people have gone with an SSD + HDD set-up as it offers speed and a fairly large amount for storing files. -

The Seagate hybrid drives are great if you only had one hard drive bay and want to speed up the read/write time of commonly used programs. You will get better results getting seperate SSD/mSATA and HDD though. Or you could check out Western Digitals Black2 SSD+HDD non-hybrid drive which has 120GB SSD + 1TB HDD in one drive.

The best configuration with 2 drive bays is to have 1 SSD to boot from and run daily programs and 1 HDD for mass storage. You can upgrade the capacity for each drive if you need it. The hybrid drive seems pointless because it isn't fast enough to boot from and it's expensive compared to a regular HDD for mass storage.
WD Black2 is great but it costs $350. A 120GB SSD costs about $80 and 1TB HDD costs around the same. -

At the very least, it will speed up booting into the OS compared to a traditional HDD. If you don't use the same programs frequently enough to take advantage of the 8 GB of NAND cache on the drive, the startup entries, services, and Windows files (assuming you're running Windows) at log on will yield a quicker OS start up after a few subsequent boots.
All around, they've been proven to be good, reliable drives. -
