Hi
I bought this laptop few months back and I want to extract the best performance out of it. from my readings I heard that overclocking the GPU with dragon center wont give much and it is almost fake, I use it 99% for controlling my fans speed, is there any way to OC my graphics card without it yet be able to control CPU and GPU fans speed?
when I got my laptop few months back I did clean format and only used MSI AB but didn't give me much of overclocking, and it kept crashing the system on me even with dragon center OC values!
I'm using all the latest drivers+ my CPU is Intel Core i7-8750H not the OC one.

Then turn off the laptop.
Then hold down the power button for 60 seconds. Then release it. Wait 3 minutes.
Go into your Bios, and set VR Current Limit to 800 (200 amps). Also known as ICCMAX.
Dragon center does bad things to your Bios, changing settings that are hidden unless you have an unlocked Bios menus.
To control your GPU overclocks, use MSI Afterburner.
To control your CPU undervolting or overclocks, use Throttlestop 8.70+.
To control your fan curves, use MSI Silent Option (Skylake version) which still works.Solid Eye likes this. -
if you don't mind me asking, holding the power down for 60 sec does that flash the original bios? I did that and now my cpu can hit 4.1 with two cores while previously it can only reach 3.9, is it because of the new bios power limitation? and BTW what do you think of my results above?
in any case I'll go do all of that and report back, again thank you.Last edited: Nov 12, 2018 -

I don't own this laptop so I can't help you, nor can I analyze your results. I am not an MSI employee nor a systems reseller.
All I can do is download MSI's bios and look at the structure and see what Dragon Center is changing, from other users' Bios options screenshots when they were nice enough to unlock their Bios with the key combo.
As I said before, Dragon Center does things to your Bios that you don't want it to do.
namely changing this option which you don't have access to
(TDC) gets enabled by dragon center and sets to 640.Last edited: Nov 12, 2018Solid Eye likes this. -

Don't forget to flash the latest BIOS as well while you're at it:

after removing DC, resetting NVRAM and OCed my GPU, I had a noticeable increase in my score:

unfortunately MSI Silent Option isn't compatible with my laptop and refuses to load due to incompatibility, and I used SpeedFan also with no luck either. the only solution I can do right now is to use the fan booster button to make fans go 100%.Last edited: Nov 12, 2018 -

it's been compatible for other users and tested by many as fully working on the GT75.Solid Eye likes this. -
and BTW maybe because of what we did with AC value, now I can OC my 1080 to 2,063 MHz/1,501 MHz which I couldn't before!Spartan@HIDevolution and Falkentyne like this. -
