    Hello there...

So my new laptop arrives tomorrow and I am trying to get prepared for the clean windows installing I am planning to do. (and which I never did before)

Laptop model is up in the title and here is a LINK for the exact laptop I got.

I am sure there is one detailed step by step post on how to clean install windows to your new MSI... unfortunately I am not being able to find this post :) I know we have some MSI experts here, and I would really really appreciate some help on the following:
    1. What are the things that I should check (make sure are okay) once I receive the laptop?
    2. Shall I simply format the laptop once I receive it or I should do some tweaks to the bios -for example- before I format?
    3. The laptop comes with Win10 home preinstalled, does this mean that I will need to pay the full price of a Win10 pro?
    4. What are the things that I can download now to save time when the laptop arrives?
    5. Any other tweaks, suggestions, recommendations are highly highly appreciated :D

Do copper shim heatsink mod, reapply thermal paste(use gelid gc ectreme), get latest drivers for you lappy, use something to elevate yoyr laptops back for ventillation or if possible use a cooling pad, update bios(if availabe).

You really shouldn't post videos telling people to shim BGA cpu's if you don't know what you're posting in the first place.

Those CPU's aren't even BGA to begin with. I forget what they're called but they're mobile "LGA" procesors (not desktop versions).

Then can you explain me that i used them on my old ge62 and got 5c less temps? ;)
I just posted video to tell you HOW to do it. :)
Almost any msi laptop i have seen or touched were helped by these shims, even my cousins msi gt83vr. :D

Read the reviews of people using it on bgas and gpus and stating temp decrease
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00E...pper+shims&dpPl=1&dpID=41rhk5kF2kL&ref=plSrch

And as for cpus in the video, i read it somewhere from eurocom that they are bga cpu, but arent soldered, and are fitted by screws or something. o_O(yep really, screws!)

Thank you all for the help...
On another note, I think this forum is getting a little too tensed lately. People are a little over reacting over comments, suggestions, and other things.
I believe the reason this forum was originally created is to become a neutral and none commercial place to share knowledge and options about computers...
Let's all have a more friendly and unaggressive way of commenting to each other.. So I ( apparently the one with least technical knowledge among you) could understand what should and what I should not do.

First of all, when you get the laptop, try to game intensive titles, like AC or gta 5, at your required settings, if the temps get to like 85c then you should lower the settings, or you should *try* things i stated above :spinny:. Btw congrats on your new msi, and i also forgot dont uninstall msi gaming centre, it is very usefull! :bigyes:

If you're planning to repad/repaste, you might want to ask if that voids your warranty. Also, you can download the official drivers and utilities for your specific model (aside from the link that I gave) here: https://us.msi.com/Laptop/support/GT73VR-TITAN-PRO-7th-Gen-GEFORCE®-GTX-1080

    Nice question there! ;)
According to the msi support i asked, repasting dosent void warranty, but applying copper shim does!

Yeah. MSI lets you have almost complete control over the laptop upgrades, repad, repaste as long as it's done properly and lets you keep the warranty as long as you're not damaging any parts in the process. However, some shops or some online resellers does void the warranty just by opening the laptop. I remembered some dude in the GT75VR owners lounge that after done the servicing on his laptop, without knowing, he voided the warranty. Now he got some issues with the laptop and the shop will not honor him returning the laptop. I will try to find that post in the GT75VR owner's lounge if ever I got the time.

Yeah, this kind of thing happened to guy i know from child hood, he installed some new ram in his gt80 titan, in process he accidentally ripped of a small tag or strip, according to msi, it was indication of desoldering on of the ic thingies, and hence his 300$ 3year warranty was straight away aborted! He is still in shock something like this happened to him ! :frown:

Before you decided to clean install Win10 and regret starting without the Win10 key, go download Produkey and have all the outputs printed out somewhere/upload to Google drive.

There's nothing to regret even if he didn't remember to do that.

    1) When you boot off the Windows 10 Installation Flash Disk, it will automatically grab the product key that's injected in the BIOS from the manufacturer and install the respective Windows Edition of that key (Home or Pro)

    2) One can always find out the key that is built into BIOS at any time:

To find out your Windows 10 Product key that's injected in your computer's motherboard:

Download RWEverything and launch it as admin

Click on ACCESS > ACPI Tables

Then go to the MSDM Tab:

That's not for our laptops! go download it and check the files within the zip published dates, they are since September 2015 and the app version is still at 0.0.1.4

For our laptops, we use the Dragon Center! not the Gaming Center

if it does, then go ahead and use a pre Beta v0.1.14 version of an ancient app that has been discontinued in 2015 if you wish and don't come here claiming that MSI has such a utility for laptops. It's NOT listed in ANY laptop driver download page. Period. We use the Dragon Center not the Gaming Center. If you have anything otherwise to say, show me a link to the so called magical gaming center from a laptop's driver support page!

Midas, I don't understand the point of your post.
You're arguing with the guy who single handedly makes all of our downloads for MSI taptops convenient and easy, so we can get our systems running in no time flat.

Gaming center was for OLD laptops. We don't use those. If you want to use it, go use it. If it works, or doesn't work, we don't really care.
Dragon Center was made for newer systems. Why do you even care about "Gaming center"? Do you have a fetish with the word "gaming"?
Please don't tell me Santa was mean to you yesterday! :(

That's Dragon Center not Gaming Center and that's some shady site you posted there. Only download drivers from the official manufacturer website.
