I am playing SW battlefront regularly and had my i7 6700HQ boosting@full turbo 4x3,1GHZ (-120mV undervolt) 100% the time, after 2hours of game HWinfo shows me average ~3090MHZ.

But today I installed newest nvidia driver and suddenly my CPU drops to 1,6GhZ to 2,6GHz after few minutes in game. even in high performance mode and "sport mode" in MSI gaming center....

Even when I lock the clocks with Throttlestop the CPu goes down.

    How can this be?
CPU temps were always cool (70-72C max ingame)

Do I have to go back to old drivers?
Is it possible that nvidia drivers "force" CPU to deactivate turbo?

    This is very strange.

Did you do anything else besides installing nvidia drivers? Perhaps an update to windows or something? It should be completely unrelated (nvidia GPU vs intel CPU) and should not cause throttling. Try stock settings for the CPU without the undervolt, and then undervolt again. also check if any power settings changed in windows.

@DaReference5754 See if windows power plan is set up to high performance (100% processor power) and not put to balanced power or your own created power plan. Try this instead of MSI gaming center.
