My girlfriends old GT72VR keyboard keys( space bar, f, and g) often stopped working. So I finally replaced her keyboard and battery too. It was a pain but the new ones keys work except, the colors are like inverted. Red shows up green and green shows up red for example. The color brightness is not uniform throughout either.

I got the crystal key version here: any-pc-part.com

I reinstalled the steelseries engine and that did not help. I loaded the EC fw back on as well.

    Any suggestions?
At this point I'm not going to go through the effort of replacing the board again since it functions.

First things first, have you fully reset the EC firmware?? I.e pressed down a clip in the little hole for 30 seconds with the PSU disconnected??

It should then not allow you to power the laptop after doing this till you have inserted the PSU again.

If you have done this already, have you made sure prism is disabled.

If you've done the above then you have a Dodgy aftermarket version.

It's in steel series engine software. There is an option for prism, enable it then disable it see if that helps.

No that did not help unfortunately. Well the keys function which is most important and it lights up just incorrectly.

I take it you have gone through Default profile to Default Profile 4 to see if that's if not it's a shame but as long as the keyboard types I am sure that's more then enough.

I have the same problem, only with different keys. I'm looking for a new gt72vr (6re) keyboard with shipping from the EU.
