    Hello,

    My MSI GT72VR 7RE comes with 120HZ 5MS TN screen.

    Since a few months, i have noticed a faint flickering / blink on the right side of the screen, top right of the screen to be more accurate.

    This only happens on fullscreen and with g-sync turned on, borderless works fine with g-sync, and if i turn off g-sync i can play fullscreen with no problem.

    According to google research, it looks like a driver problem by Nvidia, the issue was introduced in a driver and they never fixed this issues on newest drivers.

    Video - https://imgur.com/a/lKLRv

    Info about the issue - https://techreport.com/news/27449/g-sync-monitors-flicker-in-some-games-and-here-why

    Lots of people reporting this issue - https://www.google.pt/search?client=opera&q=g-sync+flicker&sourceid=opera&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

    Anyone with this problem?

    If no one replied clearly no one knows the answer. No need to spam posts like this.

    Okey, lets wait a few more days, then will "bump" again.

    If you know something please share it here.

    Thank you

    That's fine if you bump after a few more days of waiting
    but when the post is still almost at the top of the list, that's spamming and considered rude to do.
    tl;dr: wait until your post is on the second page before bumping.

    The links you’ve posted have all the answers. Try turning your V-SYNC on permanently in Nvidia settings. See if that helps. Other that that - driver issue can only be fixed by driver provider.

    The problem is, ive already tried all the tips and advices they give, also ive tried several old nvidia drivers to no effort.

    And what if i told you, other people with the same laptop, windows and drivers, have no problems at all?

    Thats why i dont know for sure it really is, a software issue and not an hardware issue.

    News:

    I´ve tested this drivers and did a clean installation using DDU :

    [IMG]

    Borderless = all working good, fullscreen = right side flickering

    30fps = notice a bit less, 60fps = notice a lot more, above 60 fps = notice a bit less

    V-Sync off or on, inside the game or in the Nvidia settings, no difference.

    And with this said, since not a single person, from NBR or MSI Forum, confirmed any of this, i assume this is a screen problem most likely.

    I did one more test.

    Fullscreen,

    locked 58fps, i notice a lot of flickering

    locked 118fps, i do notice a bit less flickering

    locked 30fps, best option, almost no flickering

    V-Sync turned off or on, inside the game or in Nvidia settings = doesnt do a thing (v-sync only works at 120fps, because the screen is 120hz)

    Whats strange is that everyone says, that the flickering gets a lot worse, below 40fps, and in my case it improves things and i get less flickering lol.

    60fps = almost unplayable, 70fps / 60fps / 50fps, is when i notice more.

    Above 80 fps, improves things and i notice a bit less.

    And the screen only fickers on the right side of screen, as you can see on the videos i posted.

    Borderless = perfection

    P.S

    @Pedro69, @Falkentyne, and others with a g-sync laptop, can help me, easily.

    Play AC Origins or your favorite game, fullscreen, with locked 60FPS, G-SYNC ON, V-SYNC OFF inside the game and Nvidia settings, and tell me if you notice anything.

    When your laptop comes back, test it, and tell me how it works for you @heliada

    Thank you

    I have this "Top Right Corner Flicker" issue since day one with my GT73 @ GTX 1080 laptop. (old or new games doesn't make difference)

    only difference is that I have this problem while game loading (loading screen) never have the problem in Game Menu or in Game Levels.

    I tried all the tips and trick I can find and nothing helped, never reported this problem to MSI however discussed this in GT73 Offical thread and in the end, I just left it alone...as screen only flicker on top right corner while game loading and loading screen only appears for few seconds, doesn't bother me at all

    Hello bro

    No solution given to @streetunder case yet, he sent the laptop to RMA but is still there, i believe this can be a case of a defective screen, since theres people claiming they don't have any flickering or blinking while using GSync.

    Thank you for your feedback.

    Ok, so i have news.

    The problem is fixed by replacing the screen, confirmed by MSI.

    If you have this issue, contact them.

    Cheers

    You haven't confirmed this yourself yet, right? Wait until it comes back and double check on it.

    I see, out of curiosity, was it full refund? Did they offer you a system replacement before a refund? Was this from the US office or elsewhere?

    One thing I recommend in this case, is to make sure the game refresh rate and resolution match that of your display. Often the flickering is loss of frames because they do not match.
