    I am running 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate
I have the Q9000. my motherboard im pretty sure is an MS-1722

I recently ran cpu-z and while going through it i realized that it says my board has 4 RAM slots. Only slot #1 and #3 has 2GB of RAM in each, but it also said showed that i have slot #2 and #4 open.

(Screenshots from cpuID, notice the slot #'s)

In disbelief i went to crucial.com and scanned my system, and what do you know, it also says that i have 2 RAM slots open.

So does anyone know where this 2nd set of RAM slots is located at? i opened the bottom cover and theres only 2 slots down there.

could the 2nd pair of slots be located under the keyboard?

Any info that any body has about this would be sweet. i looked up the price of 2x2GB chips and it was less than $90. so if i can get 8GB of RAM for $90 im going to do it for sure.

    Thanks

You only have two, pretty sure the chipset is capable of 4 slots that is why CPUz shows them as available but they are not present.

Eh, i dont want to be spending $250 on 2x4gb sticks.

ill just be happy with the 4gb i have, i just thought if i had 2 open slots i couldnt just let them sit there and collect dust :D

Ur right , kinda pointless money wise and performance will remain pretty much same as most app won't use/need them even in 64bit
