Hello, I ordered a laptop from powernotebooks.com and as of right now they're not too much help. I've been uninstalling, and reinstalling my Realtek Audio Drivers as well as numerous other things for the past 2 days. When connecting a headset, the mic and the headphones are not registered.
When connecting my headphones that work on my old laptop, it still does not register. When I install the GT72 980m's drivers for audio, I can pull up the Realtek HD Audio manager, however that still doesn't help. When I install the GT72 970m's drivers for audio I can't pull up Realtek HD Audio manager.
However whether with the drivers or without, the onboard speakers still work fine. This laptop of course has a headphone jack, mic, line in, line out. None of the jacks/ports register my headphoens or any other audio device.
Please assist.

Does Realtek HD Audio Manger detect any device when you plugged in your headset?
If it does detect but doesn't work could be drivers issue. If it doesn't detect anything at all then it could be the audio jack board is either not sitting properly or defective:Attached Files:

as I know nowadays GT72 in audio driver does work with Nahimic together to offering headset auto-detect. and the driver version have to pair together. does your GT72 comes with factory default system and fail or you've done re-config the system driver? I'm curious about your headset model too.
