Hey guys I'm having a problem with HDMI output here. Please help.

Months ago, I fried my nvidia discrete GPU inside my GT70-2OD so I went ahead and removed it. Flashed unlocked BIOS, set primary graphics to IGFX. Everything worked fine without the card.
But yesterday when I tried to hook up an external monitor via HDMI output, I got no signal from it, nor did windows recognize the monitor.
I did some googling and found that HDMIs on GT70s are directly routed to the discrete card.
And I tried playing with BIOS graphics settings including setting the boot graphics to EFP, EFP2, EFP3 with no luck.

Does that mean I can't use the HDMI on my GT70 without a discrete graphics card?

    Thanks!

You can't change the physical wiring with the BIOS.

Is there any workaround without spending on a new card? Thanks

You could get a USB to HDMI displaylink adapter, they work pretty well for adding another monitor.

You can't use the internal HDMI without a working dGPU, but you can use this adapter.

    USB 3.0 to HDMI

    Or USB 3.0 to DisplayPort

You cannot, it's just for 2D desktop use, without acceleration like Nvidia GPU.

You can modify replies but as far as deletion goes you will need moderator's assistance to do this. @ryzeki

I go around silently reading most post as best as I can, and deleting random double posts when I see them.

I modded mine myself. Took me a while but it's not that hard if you have some knowledge and keep trying.

If you do not feel like modding it yourself you can talk to Svet at MSI forum as he probably can figure out a way to solve your issues.

I already try to do the registry but it keeps blocking my IE....
I know he can do it for some donation.... I im willing to, but i would also like to know if my issue would be solved by changing gpu settings in the Bios....
Im trying to make it work with a K5100M. It works, but when i plug the hdmi cable the computer freaks out and gets blocked and i dont know what to do..... Already flashed vbios in gpu probably 10 times....

    Any suggestions?

If it's BIOS related then you will need his expertise since you are using a non-original GPU in the system.

Sounds like an EC problem. Try updating / resetting your EC. That should solve the problem.

Today i was able to test my K5100M on a Dell M6800, and it turns out that the issues i was facing in my GT70, were related to the video card and not my laptop...
Its sad because i spent a lot of Money on this, and it turns out that its not working...

Anyway, just wanted you guys to know...
Now i need to see if i can get on a new K5100M or a K4100M....
If anyone herany of these card, and wants to seel them, please let me know...

    Thanks

Yes... I was also speaking with Svet to see if could be anything Bios related, but no.
I tried 2 tests in the Dell M6800 with my card and the 2 times i had 2 BSOD and at least in one of the crashes it mentioned the nvidia driver...

I was Reading now online about some guys trying to fix bad gpus by putting them into the oven to see if by melting the solder it might fiz anything....
Crazy idea, but if the guy i bought the card doesent answer me, i think i dont have nothing to lose.... :)

The process is called reflow, to secure the solder joints but this isn't always the only root cause.
