As the title says, my 4mo old GT70 shuts down at random times. While it is plugged in I know for sure, it is so bad some times that I don't even get to windows loading screen. I was able to stay on till the battery just about died turned it off and plugged it in all night and didn't charge :/ any suggestions?

Go into bios and leave your computer there. See if it will turn off.
If it does not turn off, then you have either a hard drive issue, or bad Windows installation.

And when you said shut down, are you saying a complete shutdown or just a restart?

after some testing, it doesn't do it when not plugged in. I have yet to try going into bios, not tons of free time right now will let you know later. maybe the power supply is triggering a shut down i don't know, not a computer person just like to game. also when it is over half way charged it doesn't seem to shut down when plugged in.

*edit* it does shut down when plugged in at any battery percent. restored it back to factory settings. seemed good then it started having the same problem again but now crome is crashing constantly. it is so random to tell if it is good in bios or not. I can say was good for an hour I was in bios and it was plugged in.

Does it shut down when You game as well, or does it only happen when the laptop is idle? If it's the latter, it can be related to the power plan settings in Windows. Some of them (I think including the default "balanced" profile) are by default set to shut down (or hibernate) the laptop, when it stays idle for a specified amount of time.
