Kind of interested in this machine, however I've been hearing that MSI is really bad at pasting/handling heat and this will be my first laptop so I'd rather not repaste stuff myself.

How hot does this machine get during intensive gaming like crysis 3 or Battlefield4? How much can you overlock this 870m? Is the 180w psu good enough for overclocking? I've seen some posts where people can get +100/400 on their 870m which is pretty decent though I don't know what brands they use.

Are you using the fans in full speed?

I didn't. It'll probably go lower though if I did use it. I do have a notepal u3 under my laptop and the fans are directly under the open spaces on the base so it probably helped?

Mine hits a high of about 79.

I have only been able to get about 100MHz over on GPU and memory while keeping stable without any volt increase.

If you pull the trigger on one klauz, opt for the best thermal compound you can get. If the seller you're interested in offers it, IC Diamond is one of the best compounds you can buy and it goes a long way. Additional mods like copper heat sinks or different pads can help too. The GT series gets pretty warm by design, but not to the point of it destroying itself in a matter of months. Take care of it and it should take care of you. :)

If you are serious about tweaking it you will buy your own IC diamond and a decent square of 0.5mm thermal pad and redo the whole thing, that's how I benchmarked a 680 and 780 at 1200mhz core clocks (along with other non cooling related mods).
