ISSUE #1: iPad won't charge
I have a GT70 2OC coming up to the end of its 2-year warranty in a few weeks. I recently reformatted the computer and now it will not charge my iPad. It used to charge the iPad before the reformat, so I'd imagine there's a driver/setting issue. However, all the drivers/utilities from msi's website have been installed so I can't tell what the issue is. I also set the iCharger setting in the BIOS to AC mode. I remember there used to be a message that would pop up acknowledging that an iPad has been connected, but now this message does not appear and the iPad displays "Not Charging" in the upper right corner.

ISSUE #2: iPhone won't charge unless the computer is awake
I enabled the iCharger setting to support charging in the various S states (sleeping, powered off, etc) and it doesn't seem to work. When I connect an iPhone or any other device that charges via USB, the charging happens normally as long as the computer is awake and the lid is open. But the moment I close the lid, putting the computer to sleep, or power it off, the USB-connected device immediately stops charging.Last edited: Jun 14, 2015 -
Do you enable Super Charger in Task Manager-Startup? If it's enabled and you enable ICharger in the BIOS to AC/Battery it should work. I tried this mode and it always worked for me even in hibernate mode. The problem is that in this mode it uses battery power even when the computer is turned off. Try to enable Super Charger in Task Manager and use AC/Battery Mode in BIOS to see whether is working or not. You can also use hibernate and shutting done options to check if it charges your Iphone.

Yes, Super Charger is enabled in Task Manager Startup. iCharger is enabled, I tried both AC/Battery mode and AC mode. As of now, I cannot charge my iPad even if the computer is awake.
The sleep/hibernate problem is totally separate because when the computer is sleeping/hibernating/off, it will not charge ANY devices, including my iPhone.
So as of now, the situation is this:
- iPhone charges under "awake" conditions but not under any of the S conditions
- iPad never charges under any conditions -
Since my 2 issues were misunderstood by a moderator and my 2 threads were merged into one, this has become somewhat confusing. Sorry about that. I just edited my first 2 posts to it can be clearly seen that we are dealing with 2 separate issues here. Issue #1 relates to insufficient current being delivered to the high-powered USB port under all conditions. Issue #2 relates to NO current being delivered to ANY USB ports under sleep/hibernate/power off conditions.
GT70 2OC iCharger BIOS setting (S0, S1, S2...) doesn't work?
