    Hello,
guys im planning to buy Cyberpowerpc's Fangbook which as per Cyberpower is based on MSi GT70 0nd model.
Now my question is, im not planning to buy an SSD with it right now, since ill personally buy Samsung 840 PRO later and put it into the notebook.
will it be possible? i heard there is only single SATA3 port in that model and 1 SATA2 port? and some msata problem aswell (note that Ultra raid with 2 msatas is possible on that model MSi GT70 0nd) .
Probably HDD that comes with it will be installed in that SATA3 port and have genuine windows 7 on it.

Now my question is, if i buy Samsung 840 PRO SSD later myself, how do i put it in? i mean will there be a bay for it? i dont want it to perform on SATA2 speeds, that will be almost half speed.
and is it possible to move the original Windows 7 to SSD from HDD later on?

Maybe i can pull out HDD and put it into other port, and put SSD in that SATA3 port. will it work?

i dont have first hand information on Cyberpower fangbook. but its based on MSi GT70 0nd model. Any help will be appreciated.

Specs on website about fangbook are bit unclear.

Here is a pic on Fangbook from inside

There's no magic to physical installation. :) Just remove the screws that hold it in place (the original drive) and slide it out. You can move it to the other bay so that your SSD is in the primary bay. Secure the drives using the screws provided, and check your BIOS upon first booting after you finish, just to make sure the drives are detected. If so, then enjoy! If not, reseat the drives and make sure they're firmly in place and secured.

    Hello Captmario,

To answer your queston, yes there is only one SATA III port, and you can put the Samsung 840 PRO inside the slot when you buy it. If you have any other questions about the FANGbook or any other CyberPowerPC product please give us a call at 888/900-5180.

i did actually talk to someone named justin, he told me both slots are SATA3.. so furthur discussion seemed senseless since even i, who doesn't own fangbook yet, know that it has only one SATA3 port. since its based on MSi GT70 0nd. Maybe they need to know more about their own products.

So my other question is Will it be possible to move the windows installation from HDD to SSD later on then?

You can clone the drive, just make sure you align it. Although it's generally recommended (for stability's sake) that you do a fresh install of Windows, you can refer to this guide for instructions on cloning/migrating everything.

Here are some cloning apps for your consideration too, if you're interested in going this route.
