I was looking at the GT70 0ND-444US: Amazon.com: MSI Computer Corp GT70 0ND-444US 17.3-Inch Laptop: Computers & Accessories and the GT70 0NC-494US: Amazon.com: MSI G Series GT70 0NC-494US 17.3-Inch Laptop (Black): Computers & Accessories on Amazon. They are both the same price and exactly the same except for the GPU's they include. The 494us includes a GTX670MX and the 444US includes a GTX675M card. Which laptop would be more worth the price? I know the 670mx is the newer architecture but how does it compare to the 675m in performance? What card would be the best?

The 675M will win in a head to head in performance but the 670MX will be more overclockable (after a vbios mod) and will run cooler.

So the 670mx needs a bios mod to overclock past +135 also? Not even nvidia inspector can bypass with a force pstate? Also what card would you prefer?

None of the mobile NVidia cards can go higher than +135 MHz overclock without a bios mod. It's enforced by NVidia.

670MX would be better overall. Less heat, newer architecture. Better overclock.

Unless you go to the GTX680M....but I doubt you want to do that for the money.

None of the mobile kepler cards can, the fermi based 5xxM and 670/675 can go beyond it.

so not even forcing p0 states on kepler cards will work for getting past 135 Oc or is a modded vbios the only only way to go?

The problem is the VBIOS itself, not forcing a specific P-state. The VBIOS limits the maximum clock to +135 over it's normal state. In order to defeat that, you need a custom VBIOS. So yes, a modded/custom VBIOS is the only way to go if you want more than +135......
