I bought a gt683dxr exactly a year ago, year and a week, and it has been a great laptop, absolutely great, none of those hardware strangeness u get with some other brands, SOLID hardware hasnt failed me once.

ok, moving on to the problem. i always monitor battery wear levels and i knew from the beggining that my battery would require replacement at least once every 18 months or something like that since 70% of the time its plugged in for my work and gaming, and 30% is not. the battery WEAR LEVEL taken from hwmonitor is 34% which means i can only use 66% of its original capacity, fine by me.

BUT, the true problem is that i am using the battery unplugged and when it reaches like 18% of remaining battery it suddenly shuts DOWN. no low level warning or even tries to hibernate. my settings are set for: 10% low leve warning and 5% hibernate. it doesnt even reach 17% which makes me think that the battery is not calibrated with windows 7 or something.

i have tried the full charge discharge method and it hasnt worked, still suddenly shuts down. anyone know some kind of method or utility that can help me fix this???

    thanks

I had this exact same problem not long after i purchased my GT683DXR. Although mine came with a bad battery with the exact same problem from day one and gradually worsened until now. Now my battery is dead and is forever on 0%. Laptop goes off immediately I unplug the power. I posted about it twice or thrice on the forums and unfortunately didnt get a reply. I also noticed one or two people who had the problem earlier and had to return their laptops to MSI. I'm trying to buy a brand new battery now since it doesn't seem like it can be fixed. You know where I can get one?
