    Hello Everyone,

I have been waiting on the GT680R to come back out again. It is finally available again, at a very few places.

Anyway, I would like to make a couple of minor changes, and I have found two places that interest me. One is Xoticpc and the other is GenTechPC. The prices are about equal, but GenTech has them in stock, and Xoticpc does not. I have no experience with either place, and wanted to get opinions from anyone who has dealt with either place.

    Thanks a lot!

They are both very reputable reseller. They are also forum members here as well. My personal favorite would be Ken from GentechPC. He is friendly and helpful. Show us some update when you receive your new toy !

You might take into account where your located... both are fine resellers from what Ive seen so it might come down to who is closest to you so your shipping time is less.

So it is... an now its easy to compare it next to the gx660-060 except where they probably got the specs wrong. lol. Essentially $100 more, more disk space, more memory, better processor but no bluray drive. A plus for going thru the resellers if you want a bluray drive.

The MSI is on my shortlist... just need to make a final decision, 660, 680, g73, np8130, qosmio, lol.

Ok, lets see how close my pros/cons for each are to yours. They all have 1080p screens, i7 processors, etc so ill skip the basics.

    g73sw
Nice specs, nice price, great screen, ongoing issues (that ive confirmed first hand) with their keyboards dropping 1 in 10 keys while typing keep me from buying. Xotic says the latest bios fixes it but havent got that confirmed yet.

    qosmio
nice keyboard, huge screen, good specs, older models over priced, slow to market with new models only the bargain and topend models available yet. Also the screen is still not LED backlit and is prone to a dark stripe near the taskbar area at the bottom of the screen.

    gx660
best GPU of the bunch, last gen CPU, limited viewing angles on screen although youtube videos of it look fine, flex on left side of keyboard. Great drive performance with raid, only 3 memory slots. Great sound, great upgradability.

    gt680
the gx660 with more memory and disk space, slightly less capable GPU, better GPU, loses the express54 slot. Don't know if its the same model screen as the gx660 or not.

Also have to keep in mind that you can get an alienware 17x, 4gb 460m 3d for $1799 or a 2d version with a better GPU.

Bottom line, I like the specs and upgradability of the MSI models the best but the keyboard flex worries me as I type alot and Im not a huge fan of the crome around the trackpad.

I will also vouch for GenTech.

I've purchased 4 laptops off them over a years time and my brother 1.

    Always 10/10 service.

I had a tech issue with 3D once and Ken (GenTech) actually spent about an hour on the phone with me trying to troubleshoot it b/c Asus was useless and told me my G73JW-3DE was not 3D. Ken ended up fixing my issue and I was able to 3D immediately.

    Phenomenal service!

I actually had my eye on this exact model.

I don't know if its available in india or not. As for the vision kit, adding one will not give you 3d on your notebook as you need a 120hz 3d capable screen and the 680r doesnt come with one.

The only brand who offers a cooling system is MSI just to state THAT'S A HUGE PRO as the other laptops will die much more easy especially the QOSMIO.

Just get the 680 or wait for the 780.
