    Hey All,

Ltl, ftp here. I've been trying to do my research for awhile on what I want and settled on the gt62vr or the clevo 650 hs. I want to like the clevo more but I've heard some concerns with heat dissipation which is a big deal in my mind. The MSI handles this much better. That said, I hate the killer network adapters and would like to swap it out for an intel. I've been looking around at xoticpc, lpc digital and hid evolution ; I think I've landed on hidevolution for either brand based on their customization options but had two questions.

#1) what are your thoughts between the two models I've listed?

#2) does hidevolution have any specials or cash discounts I could take advantage of?

    Thanks!

The Clevo is probably better between the two of them.

Many users here would recommend if you like the GT62 to look at the MSI 16L13 barebones called the Tornade F5 from Eurocom.

HIDEvolution will get the temps on the Clevo P650HS far into the reasonable range if you get liquid ultra. My P650RS temps don't really even crack 80C.

Hrmmm, I guess that was my biggest hesitation point was the clevo getting too hot. I plan on getting the liquid ultra for either brand. Dumb question but... How hot is too hot for these cpu's? You say 80c and I immediately think that's pretty hot and expect them to be in the 55-70c range under load and 30-40 under idle.

I would choose the MSI if I were in your shoes. Better cooling solution and better build quality and definitely better driver support although you can't go wrong with any of them.

If you email [email protected] and give him your forum username you may be able to get a small discount. I bought all my previous 3 laptops from HIDevolution they are the best

Nah that's desktop. Mobile cpus technically are within spec until like 100C.

Normally honestly under like 88C really isn't that concerning. But a liquid ultra Clevo with max fans should be like low 70s. That's above the norm by a large margin.

Also note the build quality of the GT62VR isn't really above the P650HS. Phoenix is right on the higher end models (the only ones he deigns to consider :p) where the MSI GT73 is much nicer built than a P775DM3 for example. But the P650 is in a lot of ways Clevo's best model. The keyboard and chassis feel much nicer than those higher end models.

HID is the best U.S. reseller (I would probably give world wide crown to ObsidianPC, with HID in second). So yeah I second the recommendation to go with them.

Btw if you had a laptop and said your max temps are 60C I literally wouldn't believe you. They run hotter than desktops I would put 98% of gaming laptops between 70-95C with most in the 80s under heavy load.

I appreciate the lengthy reply and the detail. I'm looking into the bare bones model now, although I think it just made my decision even harder! Honestly just trying to prioritize what's most important. Thank you again for the insight!
