Hey guys i just recieved my 627 from new egg. I love this laptop!
After getting it up and running i installed the two programs that come in
the blue colored disc. Even after installing these two programs, my drive won't read any of my planet earth blue ray dvd's. I tested all 4 of the planet
earth episodes but it won't read any of them. My cd-rom WILL read a regular dvd but not the blue ray cds. Has anyone had this problem?

-btw half life 2 ep 1 won't install either but steam is installed not sure why that is either

The Blu Ray did you check the drivers for it? Once you find the make of the drive you should be able to find drivers on there site.

I just fired mine up for the time today and I installed ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre to watch my BR's. So far everything has played with no problems. Loving this laptop so far.

well, I updated the driver, but it still won't read my blue ray disks. I have read good things about arcsoft, but i just don't feel i should have to pay 70 just to use my own hardware...

It's not drivers, it's program. You need a better program.
