My webcam suddenly stopped working. I did not install any new updates, drivers etc...it just stopped working.

I press the webcam button on the key board and it lights up, and the icon pops up on the monitor. I then get an error saying:

"One of the usb devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it"

Under control manager it says unknown device with an error icon.

I have tried formatting, I flashed the firmware provided on the MSI site, and I tried updating / searching for software with no luck. Everything else on the computer works perfectly. Is the webcam simply dead or is there a third party driver I can install as MSI does not have a driver on their website.

    Thanks

The webcam has either failed completely or the cable has somehow gotten disloged. You can check the cable on the webcam end by removing the screen bezel.
