Hi everyone. I recently got a MSI GT 627-16US laptop, the intel one. I installed Windows 7 64 bit because vista just plain sucks. I have been using the turbo button for some time now, but never noticed any difference in performance so tonight I dled a program to read my cpu speed. Both times it was 2.2ghz with the turbo off and with it on. Is there something I did when I installed windows 7 that got rid of this feature? Will it only work if u keep the OEM Windows Vista? cuz that would really be dumb. Please help me, I would enjoy that extra OOMF from my machine :D

I don't own a laptop for now, but you could try to see in your BIOS. I know the OC doesn't work when youre on battery

umm, now the button doesnt even work, it wont even light up when I click it, and yes, my laptop is plugged in.

EDIT: My bad, apparently it didnt install all the way, I just reinstalled it and its working when I when I push the turbo button, it lights up anyways. The speed tester thing I use is only showing 1.9 with and without turbo mode  Maybe this program is trash? Anyone know one that they know for sure works?

When it was reading lower CPU speeds the power was on balanced. I just turned it to high performance, it read 2.26, off and on turbo mode.

When you press the turbo sensor do you see the "turbo on" displayed on the screen?

What program are you using to check your cpu speed?

I had the same problem as you, for the last version's installation of the SCM. I had to "install" it two times, as if the first time was to simply remove the old SCM and the second time to actually install it. Only on the second time was I asked to reboot my laptop. That was the successful time.

Now, I check on RMclock utility, in the CPU Info tab, and specifically the Throttle box. With the Turbo button On, it's listed as 2700-2800 MHz and 2400 MHz when it's off.

So it's working for me. Try RMclock, Rampage.

Run wprime32 when turbo mode is on (to see if it throttles up when being used) if not, we may need an ecfirm update?

I also had to install the latest version twice, once to get rid of the old one, once to actually install it I guess. The program I was using to read my speeds is called CPU Speed Pro? Its just some program I found using google. I tried to get the RMclock, but everytime I try to run it I get an error, it says: Cannot install or load rtcore64 driver, make sure your running the program from a not read only bla bla bla. I checked all that, I am running as admin and went into the properties for the program and ran it as admin, still says the same thing.

It's because you need the signed driver for RMclock.

    http://www.flipfire.net/download/rtcore64.zip
Download and extract it to your RMclock folder and overwrite the old driver.

    Thanks to Flipfire.

Thanks that worked, and my tubo button is too, I guess that other CPU program fails.

to test if it works, try compressing or decompressing a large zip or rar file. If Turbo works would should see the decompression going faster.
