So when the MSI GS73vr was first released, there was a lot of people stating they had coin whine coming from their laptop. This is what kept me away from them. However now that it's been quite a few months since release, has anyone that has purchased one recently, or even purchased one when it first came out still experiencing the whine?

iIve also read that undervolting the cpu can greatly reduce heat with almost no performance loss. However i have seen posts where the dragon center overrides this and bumps the voltage back up, is this correct and are there any work around?

Just realized you were talking about the GS73 and not the GT73 so I deleted my part about the whine.

If you want to undervolt, I'd suggest not using Dragon Center entirely. Dragon Center uses XTU for it's settings, and if you then go into XTU yourself to undervolt you can get some weird behavior. This is based on my experience with the GT80 and the GT73, but I imagine it applies here as well.

without using dragon center is there any way of controlling the fans? I quite like the cooler boost to push the fans up to the 100%. or are you able to make a fan profile, uninstall dragon center and it will still use the same profile?

oooh, thats quite interesting. that was pretty much the only thing that i liked about the dragon center. so if it's not even required, then it wont be an issue
