As my title, when I go onto sleep mode on my laptop I have no sound when it wakes up. A reboot solves this problem.

The microphone still works, just no audio from the speakers or any headphones I attach. No errors pop up either.

Laptop is Gs70-2qe, realtek alc892 for the sound. I've installed the drivers from the official website.

Update the BIOS, EC firmware first, if problem persists, then update the audio driver using the latest version from station-drivers.com.
Let us know if you still have the issue, good luck.

Issue is still here sadly, I downloaded the latest Realtek one since there wasn't a section for my laptop.

So after a huge mess around.... I had it working! I uninstalled the realtek drivers and it worked after windows installed rhe High Definition Audio ones... But then my network card wouldn't work. I did however manage to get everything to work after uninstaling the sound drivers and network drivers.

Since then I've reinstalled realtek and my network card as I don't wanna come into any issues further on. The sound is still a problem though.

Your network card wouldn't work after uninstalling audio drivers?

Yep, well I tried some other stuff now.

Im able to get it working on normal windows drivers... However it's only 1 out of my 2 laptop speakers that work this way.

When I install realtek I've noticed that it doesn't load up the program anymore. I can't actually access Realtek HD audio manager

So.... I downloaded the SoundBlaster Cinema and old Realtek drivers (I googled GS70 original sound drivers) and boom, sound works, Realtek audio manager works and even SLEEP MODE works!!!!!

But now my mic is really quiet!! Essentially, if I turn mic boost all the way up it sounds horrible (it was louder and clearer on Windows drivers). I've noted that the mic bars don't go all the way to the top like it used to on the Windows drivers http://imgur.com/A5I4DLl.

Any fix for the mic? Everything else is fine

Glad to hear you fixed most of the issues. I don't know about the mic problem but if I find out anything I will let you know.

You have to skip the old driver, but you will need to update BIOS, EC, and driver to the latest version otherwise the issue you're having might be related to that particular version you're using.
