I really do not like the panel on the gs66, the colors are terrible and the brightness is far too dim - it really makes my eyes hurt after just hours of use. I'm looking to replace it for this reason.
This is the current panel: http://www.panelook.com/LQ156M1JW03_SHARP_15.6_LCM_overview_37935.html
Could I change it to this?: http://www.panelook.com/LQ156M1JW31_Sharp_15.6_LCM_overview_39016.html
Open to other suggestions too. Thanks.

This is the panel on the 300hz gs66 which doesn't limit PWM brightness and offers better contrast:

Will this be compatible with my 240hz gs66? Also will the function keys to alter brightness still work after replacing?Last edited: Jun 11, 2020 -

How hard is it to replace the screen on the GS66 though? Got one a while ago, but brightness isn't too bad on mine after some adjustments. Meets around its spec of 300 nits on the 240Hz.
Interesting to note, on Discrete Graphics mode, the screen is brighter. However, I can tell the refresh rate takes a nosedive to sub 100Hz or less. Going to have to figure out if its because I am not plugged in (currently at work where no outlets are available near my cleanroom). Will look into this more later.Last edited: Jun 20, 2020
