Does anyone have success in using the GS65 for music production? Any issues with latency, crackles, pops on the audio side? I am planning using my old DAC and Cubase and maybe Ableton. Any insight is appreciated!

The built in audio DAC is pretty good already therefore you shouldn't have any issues, but if you are really picky about it after trying it out then use this one.

Apple is going to be your best bet for audio production. The built-in chipset/DAC in a MacBook Pro is excellent for this type of work.

I agree but the new MacBook Pros has issues with cpu throttling and everything is soldered in.

What isn't soldered in nowadays? Fewer choices are available.
