Hi, I'm considering purchasing a GS63VR, the 7RF (GTX 1060) or the 7RG (GTX 1070). Because I do photography and display colour accuracy is important to me so the 1080p display is the one that I would choose looking at reviews.

While the 7RF variant display has been tested and measured, the 7RG 120Hz display hasn't been measured yet. Also I see conflicting reports on its display type. MSI says it's "IPS-Like" (what does that mean really?) but the website that I will purchase the laptop says it's a TN panel.

Does anyone knows what type of panel it really has? And how does it measure?

The ASUS ROG Zephyrus is the only laptop I know of that has a 120Hz IPS display. All 120Hz displays by MSI are TN screens, but they're of the newest variety that can be found in the Dell, ASUS, etc. TN gaming desktop monitors so they call them "IPS-Like". They do have better colors and viewing angles than the older TN displays, but they still suffer from issues like color banding. Since you're doing photography you should look for the models that are only 60Hz and directly call out having an IPS display.
