I recently noticed that temps reach up to 87C when playing AC Origins. Someone suggested to me that I should undervolt my CPU. Is there a guide on how to do this?

I suggest using Throttlestop in combination with this guide: https://www.ultrabookreview.com/10167-laptop-undervolting-overcloking/

Throttlestop can be a little confusing at first, but the guide does a good job of making it easy.

You can download the latest version of Throttlestop from the top post in this thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/the-throttlestop-guide.531329/

I second ThrottleStop, but if you want something easier you can use Intel XTU.

I like Throttlestop because you can set the undervolt to load on boot, which as far as I could tell, could not be done with Intel XTU. Though Intel was easier. It has other bugs and issues that kept me away. I use Throttlestop on my GS63VR and I Can tell you now max temps on comfort while playing BF1, stays around the high 70's. Sometimes cracking 80c.

That's true which is why ThrottleStop is the best choice. :)
