Now that I've had a little time to monkey around with the wife's new GS60, I thought I'd share my experiences between the two.

    Packaging:

Nope, no similarities at all :D Both came very well packaged inside very well organized contaners. The GS60 comes with the sleeve:

Razer charges $50 for this, on top of the extra $900 price difference between the GS60 Ghost and the 2014 Blade Pro.

    Size:

I'll try to get some closed shots later, I'm still loading all her games on the GS60, but considering the GS60 is 15.6 and the RBP is 17", they're not THAT far apart size wise.

    Build quality/weight:

The Blade Pro is solid aluminum. it's roughly 2 lbs heavier than the GS60, but it doesn't feel overly heavy. By comparison, the GS60 feels INSANELY light. The chassis has a nice brushed finish, and it feels really firm and solid, though the texture is slightly plasticky. The best comparison I can give is that it feels a lot like the Surface pro/ SP2. The bezel on the GS60 has the issue where the top left and right hand corners are JUUUST separated from the lid.

    Trackpad:

You can call the SwitchbladeUI on the Razer gimicky, but at least it FUNCTIONS as a trackpad. I took the extra software off the GS60 and it STILL gave me fits. Resting my wrist on the notebook, not even TOUCHING the trackpad, would cause the mouse to jump. Without dedicated buttons, you'll get instances where it doesn't right click properly. If you actually have to USE the thing consistently, it's frustrating. My wife's comment was "that's why I always carry a mouse". I say you shouldn't HAVE to. . . but I still carry one anyway with my Blade Pro :D

    Performance and heat:

The main event for this comparison. At some point I'll expand with a whole bunch of stress tests and temps, etc. As I'm limited on time, here are my initial impressions/observations from last night's hour long gaming session with my wife.

860m Kepler vs Maxwell. Exactly the same performance in Diablo 3. Yea, I know, it's not Titanfail or Call of Battlefield. . but it's what we've got. GS60 topped out CPU around 78c, GPU 76c. Blade Pro topped out CPU 81c, GPU 75c. We were sitting right next to each other and both of us had the FPS counter up. Essentially identical FPS.

When we packed them up, my wife noticed the bottom of the GS60 was almost uncomfortably hot. Naturally that's to be expected, but was interesting was that the Blade Pro wasn't really any hotter on the bottom than it was on the top. i don't know if the Blade Pro is dissipating on BOTH the top and bottom, or if it's just something about the difference in heat pipes.
