Seems like I am not the only one who feels this way. The speakers max volume is to quiet for everything. My HTC One M7 has louder speakers then this notebook. Just wanted to know who else feels this way about the notebook? Maybe we can come up with a solution or at least the MSI reps can see this and report it to the engineers? Hopefully this can be fixed in software.

Also yes, Bios, EC Firmware and drivers are all up to date.

Exactly the same for me too. Really really quiet, probably my only complaint with the machine. If there's any background noise it's almost impossible to hear over.

You can try installing Viper4Windows, its an awesome Audio effects very popular on android and this version works well on windows, amplifies the volume and add additional audio effects...

I've just downloaded Sound Booster 1.1 Build 88 and it seems to do a fairly reasonable job at making it louder. One bit of advice is to make sure what ever Nahimic setting you're on you've got bass down to zero as you increase volume. The last thing you want to do is blow the speakers, and I'm not convinced there really is much oomph in these so this could be all we can get anyway. I'm using 150% with only Volume Boost on full and Bass at 6.0db in Nahimic, everything else is off. It's definitely an improvement.

Sorry to say, the audio boost is a stupid fix. Its artificially boosting frequency volumes. I have nahimic uninstalled, I want the pure experience, not a modified one. The Audio driver has to be told to have a higher maximum volume natively in windows.

I'd heard the same with all MSI laptops but a reviewer said that Nahimic improved quality on the GS40. I've not felt the need to remove it, but if you highly recommend it then I will try.

This is something you could try prodding MSI about, the speakers are a little quiet on the GS30 too, even though their construction is vastly superior to other notebooks out there.

I'm just using volume boost in nihimic and the max vlc player audio boost. I notice the soft audio more in video playback more than anything.
