I was wonder what the best SSD to fit to the EXTRA SLOT available for my GP73, Can someone point to what I need to purchase for this slot? 256GB would be the size I'm looking for?
As I'm a bit confuse what PCI-E Gen.3 SSD means?

Here the video of the GP73, stop at 4.23 minutes and look at the PCI-E 3.0 x4 SSD slot.

PCIe SSD means it needs to be an NVMe SSD and not a SATA SSD. This is because both protocols can use the M.2 connector and thus some users can get confused. The port you showed requires an NVMe M.2 SSD so make sure it is that and not a M.2 SATA SSD.

As for size, it is up to you. For example in my GS75 I kept the SM961 SSD as a boot drive and bough an HP EX920 1TB NVMe SSD as a secondary drive for my games and data. If you are looking for SSD options, the EX920 can be found for as little as 120dlrs and it has decent performance.

But size is up to you. Personally, you can find good value 1TB ssds right now.
