    Hi guys,

want to change my Gigabyte P35 with the MSI GE72 Apache pro (i7-6700, gtx970m). But want to know if it engineered enough to not to have heat and noise problems.

The thing is my Gigabyte is kind of slim for i7 and gtx860m so when it is loaded, the fan is getting very noisy and the plate with the loudspeakers (there are heatsinks are situated) becomes very-very hot. Sometimes it even shut down...

It should not have an overheating problem as long as you take care of it (use it on a hard, flat surface, keep the fans and heatsinks free of dust, hair, etc., and don't block the vents), and neither should your Gigabyte laptop. You will hear the fans, but they're not terribly loud. They tend to make some noise at around 55 C.

Generally the GE72 would be cooler and quieter than most thin models like the p35. Thin models typically just run hotter, as they might not have as much room for airflow, might have smaller or less vents, and typically the fans aren't as big, etc... But you really shouldn't see heating issues with that GE72 model.

The heat issues are mainly cause by Intel HD Graphics embedded in the CPU. If you look at all the new Skylake platforms the temperature are way cooler than Haswell and Broadwell.

However, the MSI laptops still have better cooling overall then Gigabyte. :)

I am trying to restore my MSI GE72 Apache Pro 6qf to factory settings. The F3 key is not doing anything at all. Can anyone tell me what I'm messing up?

That's the correct key. Are you attempting this on a reboot, or from a cold start up? (Note that if you have "Fast Startup" enabled in Windows, doing this from a cold boot may not work; use the "Restart" option instead.)

Also, is your recovery partition still intact?
