My left speaker is crackling even when headphones plugged in. I also get this crackling sound when I set the volume to %2. It disappers after muting it completely. The crackling sound only occurs randomly after playing sound, playing games or on idle. I tried generic High Definition Audio drivers, while using it it doesn't seem to make this sound but I think it might, it happens randomly and it didn't. And headphones aren't working properly with that driver. I tried every single drivers/nahimic combination or just driver but it didn't solve my problem, now im on 6.0.1.8382 driver provided by MSI without nahimic. My problem is similar to this, there is a video that shows the problem.

Want to know if speakers are defective or if I'm having driver issues. I tightened the screws. Laptop was opened for installing SSD.

It's as gentech said I think, it seems that there is some sort of distortion on the circut. Since your speaker crackles and your headphones as well.

Don't know why when inserting your headphone should remove it. I mean it could be the speaker being defective at this point, which is fairly cheap to repair.

Just RMA it to get speaker replaced and u're done.

I'm in Turkey and MSI service doesn't work well here. Lots of complaints. I'll bring it to a technician here, but I need to wait a week. Don't know if he can solve this though. Product is bought from GentechPC, it didn't have this problem till last week, I noticed it after installing April update, and I added an SSD to 2nd slot around 2 weeks before this happened. Maybe it will get solved after reinserting the bottom cover properly.

Have you tried updating to the latest version of Realtek HD audio driver?
Does increasing/decreasing volume makes any difference?

I tried every combination I think. Latest version I tried is 6.0.1.8425. Seems like volume doesn't make any difference.

Damn, that's bad to hear because it's really hard to reproduce this crackling. It randomly occurs. Thanks for help.

If you have nahimic software installed, attempt to uninstall and test. Might resolve the issue. Might be a long shot if it is only one speaker but worth the try.

I tried everything related Nahimic or drivers. Bottom cover needs to reinserted i think, it seems like its not properly aligned. right side is ok, I can see a bit red housing at left corner. What do you think about that?

It is possible there is simply materially against the speaker causing the sound. It is hard to say remotely. Physical observe the speaker to see if there are any obstructions.
