I'm wondering if anyone knows what pll it uses? If not are there any other ways to find out without opening it up and voiding warranty?

I wouldn't void your warranty if you opened up your chassis. They do not suggest it, but it doesn't void it. Just be careful when doing so.

Good luck finding it, the clock is integrated into the CPU.

Unless it has a "Warranty void if removed" sticker over one of the screws like on mine. I have an i7-2820QM sitting there waiting to be installed but I'm scared of voiding my warranty :( It's been suggested to me to wait until warranty is over, but I bought it off Ebay so need to confirm the thing actually works etc so I'm gonna have to take the plunge and just open it up or try remove the sticker intact.
